the formation of the musicians of such organizations into a
separate body, to be known as "Field Music, " to consist of the
present enlisted musicians and such others as may hereafter be
enlisted in or transferred to it as musicians. In the regiments
and battalions composed of separate companies, field musicians
may be allowed on the basis of two to each company, to be
enlisted by the direction of the commanding officer of, and
attached to the headquarters of such regiment or battalion.
When such regiment or battalion is assembled for duty, the
musicians allowed by Section 19 of this Chapter to the com-
panies composing it shall be assigned to duty as part of the
field music. In all other regiments, battalions or troops field
music may be allowed on the basis of not more than four men
for each company or troop part of such organizations, and no
musicians shall be allowed to a company or troop part of such
regiment. The commanding officer of an organization of which
field music is a part may appoint and warrant from its mem-
bers one Quartermaster Sergeant, one Sergeant and one Cor-
poral.

SEC. 30. A Naval Brigade shall be composed of two Bat-
talions, each Battalion to consist of not more than three Divi-
sions. Five Divisions shall be composed of the following:

1 Lieutenant, Senior Grade.
1 Lieutenant, Junior Grade.

1 Ensign.

2 Boatswain Mates.
2 Quartermasters.

1 Master at Arms.

2 Gunners' Mates.
2 Coxswains.
1 Yeoman.

44 Seamen and Apprentice Seamen.
Total enlisted, 54 petty officers and men.
The minimum strength of a Division shall be 36 petty
officers and men.

There shall be one Division which shall consist of:
1 Chief Engineer, Lieutenant.

1 Past Assistant Engineer, Lieutenant, Junior Grade,
1 Assistant Engineer, Ensign.

3 Chief Machinists.

4 Electricians.
1 Chief Yeoman.

47 Machinists' Mates, who shall be appointed as oilers.
Water Tenders and Firemen.
Total enlisted, 54 petty officers and men.
