city of Baltimore that are to remain; and if it so decides it may
cause to be made thereto such repairs as in its judgment may be
necessary to preserve them and their contents; provided, the
cost thereof does not exceed the amount of said fund remaining
as aforesaid. In making said repairs, if any, said Commission
shall follow the method hereinbefore provided for the building
of the new warehouse.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That for the purposes of
paying the cost of preparing said plans and specifications, and
of removing any old building or buildings from the site of said
new warehouse, and of constructing said new warehouse and
of superintending the construction thereof, and of furnishing
the appliances, equipments and furniture therefor, and all other
necessary expenses, and of repairing the old State Tobacco
Warehouses that are to remain; the money now in the Treasury
of the State credited to the tobacco warehouse fund, or so much
thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated, and the
Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to issue his war-
rant upon the Treasurer for such amount or amounts as the
said Commission, upon their requisition or requisitions, may
require, not exceeding, however, in the aggregate, said tobacco
warehouse fund.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That all Acts and parts of
Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be and the
same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 231.

AN ACT to amend the first section of the Act passed at this
present session of the General Assembly, entitled "An Act to
authorize and provide for the building of a new State Tobacco
Warehouse upon the site or sites of existing State Tobacco
Warehouses in the city of Baltimore; for the payment for
said building (including removal of old buildings, plans,
specifications, equipments and furniture) from the moneys
now in the Treasury of the State of Maryland to the credit of
the tobacco warehouse fund, for the naming of a Commis-
sion to have general charge of said building operations, ex-
penditures and disbursements; and for the location in said
new warehouse of certain offices for the use of the tobacco
industry in the State of Maryland, and appropriating a sum
