PRIVATE ACTS. 1325

of money or such property as any such vestry, person or cor-
poration shall desire to place in his or its hands as treas-
urer, and to invest and hold the same for the purposes de-
clared in this Act.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the treasurer of the Protestant Episcopal Church in
the Diocese of Easton, or the Board of Estates should such
board be constituted, and his or its successor or successors in
office, be and hereby is authorized to receive from any vestry in
said diocese, or from any person or corporation, such sums of
money or such property, not exceeding in the aggregate one
hundred thousand dollars, from any vestry, person or corpora-
tion in the diocese, as the vestry, person or corporation
shall desire to place in such hands or custody to provide an
endownment fund or funds for any parish or parishes in the
diocese; and to invest and hold such money or property for the
use and benefit of the parish and parishes for which said money
or property is provided, under the direction and superintend-
ence of the diocese, and to pay over semi-annually the income
from said respective funds to the treasurers of said respective
parishes, to be by them applied to any one or more of the fol-
lowing purposes as may be. indicated by the respective vestries,
persons or corporations providing said funds: I." To the care of
any parish graveyard. II. To the proper maintenance of the
physical structure of any parish church or churches, chapel or
chapels, or other parish buildings. III. To any other parish
purpose or purposes not now unlawful.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect as
to said diocese from the day when an official certificate of its
acceptance by said diocese shall be filed with the Secretary of
State.

CHAPTER 603.

AN ACT to refund to John L. Michael a sum of money errone-
ously paid into the State Treasury.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and is hereby
authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon the Treas-
urer of this State in favor of John L. Michael for the sum of
twenty-six dollars and sixty cents, the cost of a liquor license
erroneously paid by him, the repayment thereof having received
the recommendation of the treasury officials.
