1320 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Euler, George J. Walters and John J. Bartholomee, all citizens
of the United States and the State of Maryland, and all per-
sons heretofore members of the unincorporated body known as
the Maryland Retail Jewelers' Association, and their succes-
sors, be and they are hereby created a body corporate by the
name of the Maryland Retail Jewelers' Association, and by that
name shall have perpetual succession, may sue and be sued,
answer and defend in any court of law or equity, and may
adopt local laws, rules and regulations as may appear neces-
sary and proper for conducting the affairs of said corporation,
provided the same shall not be contrary to the laws of the
State of Maryland or the United States, and the same may
change, alter or amend, as may appear proper, and may. have,
use and at pleasure change a common seal, and in general
exercise all such rights, privileges and immunities as by law
are incident or necessary to the corporation herein consti-
tuted, and to enable members of said association to exercise
all things concerning the design of the corporation for the pro-
motion of friendly relations among the retail jewelers of the
State, and their united participation in public enterprises, cele-
brations and movements and for their mutual protection
against trade abuses, illegal enterprises, dishonest customers
and unreliable manufacturers.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation 'shall be
capable in law to have, receive and retain to it property, real,
personal aiid mixed, also devises or bequests of any person or
persons capable of making the same, and the said property at
its pleasyre to transfer, mortgage, lease, sell, convey or other-
wise dispose of; provided, always, that the said corporation
shall not at any time hold or possess property, not personal or
mixed, exceeding the value of the sum of ten thousand dollars.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 575.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments chapter 108,
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, session of 1904,
entitled An Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments sec-
tion 2 and section 12 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, 1902, chapter 357, entitled An Act to incorporate
the Kent and Cecil Light, Power and Railway Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That chapter 108 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
