corporation and the General Laws of this State, shall have
perpetual existence.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock and accu-
mulated funds of the said association may be invested in either
fee simple real estate, leasehold, mortgages, bonds, stocks
of other incorporated companies, individual securities, prom-
issory or negotiable notes and other evidences of debt or in
such other property as said association may deem profitable,
and that said association be and it is hereby authorized to
take; have, hold and enjoy all such estate, real, personal or
mixed as may be obtained with the money aforesaid, and also
with any and all funds that may come into its possession in
the course of its business dealings, and to sell, grant, mort-
gage, lease and dispose of the same or any part thereof in its
discretion, will and pleasure.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 6, 1908.

CHAPTER 424.

AN ACT to revive and extend the charter of the "Martini's
German Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Unaltered Augs-
burg Confession in Baltimore, Maryland.

Whereas the Martini's German Evangelical Lutheran Church
of the Unaltered Augsburg Confession in Baltimore, -Mary-
land, was incorporated on the eighteenth day of May, 1867,
by virtue of the then existing laws for the formation of reli-
gious corporations, which said articles of incorporation are of
record in the office of the clerk of the Superior Court of Balti-
more city among the Charter Records in Liber A. M., No. 12,
folio 87, etc.

Whereas the said body corporate was by an Act of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January session of
the year 1892, which was approved April 4, 1902, and is known
as chapter 303 of the Acts of Assembly, 1902, clothed with addi-
tional power as in said Act mentioned, set forth and provided.

Whereas the said charter provided that the said corporation
should enure forty years; and

Whereas the said charter has expired; and

Whereas the said Martini's German Evangelical Lutheran
Church of the Unaltered Augsburg Confession in Baltimore,
Maryland, is still conducted as a religious corporation; now,
therefore,
