1298 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

much as by the provisions of the Act of the General Assembly
of Maryland, passed at the January session 1896, chapter
120, as amended by the Act of 1904, chapter 460 (Code of
1904, article 81, section 4), the property of any incorporated
city or town in this State,is specially exempted from taxation;
and

Whereas by reason of said erroneous assessment 'the Com-
missioners of Aberdeen paid to the treasurer of Harford county
State taxes levied upon its aforesaid properties for the years
1896, 1897, 1898, 1899, 1900, 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1905 and
1906, amounting in all for said State taxes to the sum of fifty-
six dollars and seventy-three cents ($56.73) ; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon the Treas-
urer of the State in favor of the Commissioners of Aberdeen, a
corporation of the State of Maryland, for the sum of fifty-six
dollars and seventy-three cents ($56.73), the same being the
amount of money paid by said Commissioners of Aberdeen as
State taxes levied upon its property and paid to the treasurer
of Harford county for the years 1896, 1897, 1898, 1899, 1900,
1901, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1905 and 1906, to be paid out of any
money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 423.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Jarrettsville Building
Association, a corporation duly organized under the General
Laws of this State, and to enlarge its powers.

Whereas the Jarrettsville Mutual and Permanent Land, Loan
and Building Association of Harford County, Maryland, was
heretofore duly organized under the general laws of this State,
and subsequently, by the Acts of 1898, chapter 341, of the Gen-
eral Assembly of this State, the corporate name of said asso-
ciation was changed to that of "The Jarrettsville Building
Association," which amendment was subsequently accepted
by said association, and by said latter name the same has
since been known.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Jarrettsville Building Association, in addi-
tion to the powers possessed by it under its certificate of in-
