712 of the Acts of 1906, and liable to pay the gross receipt
tax for said chapter imposed on electric construction and gas
companies by said Act or by any subsequent amendments or
modifications thereof; provided, however, that nothing in this
Act contained shall in any wise affect, alter, modify or impair
the terms, provisions, covenants and obligations contained in
an agreement between the Susquehanna Power and the Colum-
bia and Port Deposit Railway Company and the Philadelphia,
Baltimore and Washington Railroad Company, dated the
twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and
eight.
SEC. S. And be it further enacted, That anything to the
contrary hereinbefore in this Act or in this charter, or any
amendment to the charter of the Susquehanna Power Company,
or in any public or private Act of the General Assembly of
Maryland, or any provision of the existing laws of this State
notwithstanding, neither the Susquehanna Power Company
nor its successors or assigns, shall have the right, power or
authority, directly or indirectly, to manufacture, transmit, sell
or dispose of in any manner electricity or electrical current for
any purpose at any place within the limits of the city of Balti-
more, or to manufacture, transmit, sell or dispose of in any
manner electricity or electric current to be introduced into the
said city in any manner whatsoever, and no other person, firm
or corporation procuring electricity or electric current from
the said Susquehanna Power Company, shall have the right,
power or authority to introduce said current into the said city
or to transmit, sell or dispose of it therein.
SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That all Acts, public or
private, or parts of such Acts, so far as the same effect any of
the provisions of this Act or are inconsistent therewith, be and
the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 10. And be it further enacted. That this Act is hereby
declared to be a public Act because of the purposes aimed
to be hereby accomplished, and shall be construed liberally,
both in aid of its terms and provisions and in aid of the
public, and shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to refund to Henry T. Phillips a certain sum of
money erroneously paid into the State Treasury.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury of Maryland be and
