but it shall be lawful on any other day to hold such election,
and all acts of the directors shall be valid against such cor-
poration until their successors are elected. Notice of all meet-
ings of the society (except,the special meeting to be held on
the tenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eight,
for the election of directors, above provided for) shall be
given by written notice to all members, mailed to the ad-
dresses of the members as furnished by them to the general
secretary of the society, five days before the time of such
meeting, and by advertisement inserted in some daily news-
paper published in the city of Baltimore at least five days
before the time set for such meeting.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That an additional section be
added to said certificate to read as follows:
6. The right to vote at any meeting (except the special meet-
ing for the election of directors to be held on the tenth day of
April, one thousand nine hundred and eight, above provided
for, and for which election special provisions are hereinbefore
made in charter, section 4, as above enacted) of the society
shall be limited to active members present in person or by
proxy, who are not in arrears for annual dues. All persons,
firms and corporations whose names stand on the books of the
society as active members and who have paid their annual
dues of five dollars for the year, any year, are hereby declared
to be members of said society for such year. Nominations for
new members may be made to the board of directors or to the
society at any stated or called meetings, and such nominees
may be elected to membership in the society at the next meet-
ing of the directors or of the society, whichever shall occur
first. Every active member shall pay the sum of five dollars
as annual dues on or before the first day of November of each
year, and any person failing to pay said annual dnes on or
before the first day of November of any year shall thereby
cease to be a member of said society. The said society may
by its by-laws provide for the election of honorary members.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
