PRIVATE ACTS. 1201

Agriculturist Commercial Storage Company, be and the same
is hereby amended by striking from said section the words
"Agriculturist Commercial" and inserting in place thereof the
words "Baltimore Steamboat and" so that the corporate title,
name and style of said corporation shall be the "Baltimore
Steamboat and Storage Company."

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved March 5, 1908.

CHAPTER 62.

AN ACT to provide for the extension of the time for the for-
feiture of the road bed, rights and franchises of the Gapland
Turnpike Company to the County Commissioners of Wash-
ington county, Maryland.

Whereas a petition was filed on the twenty-sixth day of Au-
gust, 1907, by John S. Zecher and others against the Gapland
Turnpike Company, incorporated, in the Circuit Court for Wash-
ington county, to have said court pass an order raising the
toll gate and prohibiting the collection of tolls by the company
till the said road was put in good condition as provided by
the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland; and

Whereas on the seventh day of September of the same year
said court passed an order in conformity with said petition,
forfeiting the right of said turnpike company to collect tolls
till said road bed was put in good condition; and

Whereas since the seventh day of September last it has been
impossible, by reason of the scarcity of labor and the bad con-
dition of the winter weather, to put said turnpike road in good
condition within six months, as required by the Act of Assem-
bly, and thereby complying with the order of said court; and

Whereas under article 23 of section 355 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland it is provided that if in six months
after said order of court forfeiting the right of the turnpike
company to collect tolls, the said road bed is not put in good
condition, in compliance with the order of court, the said turn-
pike, with its rights and franchises, shall become the property
of the County Commissioners of Washington county; and

Whereas the said County Commissioners are not desirous of
taking advantage of said Act of Assembly by possessing said
turnpike road, and are willing to have the time of forfeiture
extended to November 1, 1908, for said Gapland Turnpike Com-
