203A. The President and Commissioners of Princess Anne
shall have authority to grant franchises upon such terms as
they may prescribe to any person, persons or corporation, to
establish a water works system in the town of Princess Anne,
and to lay water mains under the streets of said town, and to
convey water through pipes under the sidewalks of said town to
residences and other buildings.
203B. The President and Commissioners of Princess Anne
shall have authority to grant franchises, upon such terms as
they may prescribe, to any person, persons or corporation, to
erect and maintain a plant in said town for furnishing light,
power and heat, and to lay, erect, construct, build and operate
such lines of wire, tubes, posts, conductors and conduits along,
under, upon or over the streets, avenues, sidewalks and squares
of said town, as may be necessary for the transmission of light,
power or heat.
203C. That if the President and Commissioners of Princess
Anne shall at any time hereafter by virtue of competent au-
thority sell the water works system now owned and operated by
the town of Princess Anne, then the said President and Com-
missioners of Princess Anne be and they are hereby authorized
to contract with any person, persons or corporation to furnish
water for the protection of the property in said town against
damage and destruction by fire and to furnish lights for the
streets, avenues and squares of said town, upon such terms
and for such length of time as may be agreed upon.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 573.
AN ACT to authorize the President and Commissioners of
Princess Anne to sell the water works system now owned
and operated by the town of Princess Anne at a sum not less
than ten thousand dollars, whenever a majority of the male
and female taxables upon the assessment books of said town,
both in numbers and in the amount of taxes paid by them
shall file with the President and Commissioners of Princess
Anne, a petition in writing, signed by them, praying for such
sale; and in the event of a sale to direct the said President
and Commissioners to use so much of the purchase money as
may be necessary in creating a sinking fund for the redemp-
tion of the bonded indebtedness of said town when the same
