SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That nothing contained in this

945

Act shall be construed to affect or interfere with the collection
of taxes heretofore levied by the Mayor and Council of Rock-
ville, but all such taxes shall be collected under the existing
provisions of law as fully as if this Act had not been passed,
and for that purpose and no other said provisions of law are
hereby continued in full force and effect.

Construction

SEC. 4. And le it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved April 7, 1898.

CHAPTER 355.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 47 of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Insolvents," to be known as
Section 34, making the provisions of said Article applicable
to married women engaged in business as femes sole.

Effective.

SECTION 3. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That anew section be and the same is hereby added
to Article 47 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Insol-
vents," to be known as section 34, as follows :

Repeal.

34. The provisions of this Article shall apply to married
women engaged in business as femes sole.

CHAPTER 356.
AN ACT to repeal Section 6 of Article 33 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Elections," sub-
title "Supervisors of Elections," as re-enacted by Chapter
202 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland for
the year 1896, and to re-enact said section 6 of said Article
33 with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 6 of Article 33 of the Code of Public
