ceeds shall be devoted exclusively to and in payment of said
work of protection and preservation of said water front or
shore of Chesapeake bay, including piling already done during
the year 1897. The expense of the construction of such works
for the protection and preservation of said shore or water front on
Chesapeake bay shall be borne by and imposed upon the blocks
within said corporate limits as shown by the plat of Arundel
on the Bay, duly recorded on the records of said Anne Arun-
del county, as follows, and in the proportions as follows, to wit :
One-half or 50 per cent, of the cost of such works of protec-
tion and preservation shall be imposed upon the lots severally,
composing the east half of blocks three, four, five, six, seven,
eight, nine, ten and eleven, and lots D, E, F, G, H, I and K,
block 12. One fourth or 25 per cent, of the costs of such work
shall be imposed upon the lots severally, composing the west
half of all of said blocks Nos. three, four, five, six, seven,eight,
nine, ten and eleven. The remaining one-fourth or twenty-five
per cent, of the costs of such work shall be improved upon the
lots severally, composing blocks fourteen, fif teen, sixteen, seren-
teen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty-one and twenty-two.
Each lot above named shall bear its respective proportion of said
cost, as above specified, irrespective of any valuation of any
improvement upon it ; and the amount of money necessary to
be collected in each year, upon each of said lots to meet the
amount so to be severally imposed upon it shall be certified
by the secretary of said Commissioners of Arundel on the
Bay, upon an order and finding of said Commissioners, to be
duly entered of record as to the amount to be charged against
such lot as its due share of the cost of said works for that year,
to the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel county, who
shall extend the several amounts against the several lots as and
so specified, as a tax upon each of said several lots, in a sepa-
rate column, and which amounts severally, shall be collected as
other taxes are collected in said Arundel on the Bay, as herein-
before provided : and when collected shall be paid to the
treasurer of said town of Arundel on the Bay.

SEC. 32. And be it enacted, That all the streets, alleys, lanes,
parks and public grounds in said town of Arundel on the Bay,
shall be subject, however, at all times, for municipal and police
purposes, to the control of the Commissioners of Arundel on
the Bay, who may establish, maintain, alter and repair, such
improvements thereof and thereon, as may from time to time
be necessary, as herein provided.
