SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the sum of eight hundred
dollars, or so much thereof as is necessary, be and the
same is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the treasury
not otherwise appropriated to pay the expenses of the said
committee; and the Comptroller of the Treasury is hereby
directed to draw his warrant upon the treasurer of the State for
the said sum or any part thereof payable to the Hon. A. Lin-
coln Dryden, the chairman of said joint committee, for the
purpose aforesaid.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That -this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 345.
AN ACT to amend an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the
"Hagerstown Electric Company."

Effective.

SECTION 1. S e it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the name of "Hagerstown Electric Company,"
recited in section first of chapter 285, laws of Maryland, 1896,
be and the same is hereby changed to the name of "Harper's
Ferry Power Company," under which name said company shall
hereafter be known, and shall have and exercise all the powers
and privileges conferred by the Act as recited in above said
chapter 285, laws of Maryland, 1896.

SEC. 2. That section seven of said Act shall be amended and
re-enacted, so as to read as follows :

Amended.

"7. The said company shall be required to commence the
construction of its works within two years after April fourth,
1898, and so far complete the same within five years thereafter
as to be able to supply electric current."
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved April 7, 1898.

CHAPTER 346.
AN ACT to repeal Article seven of the charter of the Cecil
County Agricultural and Mechanical Society, and to re-enact
the same with amend ments.

land, That Article seven of the charter, as set out in its cer-
tificate of incorporation, of the Cecil County Agricultural and
