of the State to pay and reimburse William G. Rinehart, of
Carroll county, the sum of seventy-nine dollars and thirty-five
cents, being the amount overpaid by said William G. Rine-
hart into the treasury as collector of State taxes for seventh
election district of Carroll county, for the year eighteen hun-
dred and ninety-six, and certified to by the Comptroller and
Treasurer of the State, and by them recommended to be
refunded.

Effective

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 344.
AN ACT to continue the existence of the Joint Committee
of the General Assembly of Maryland appointed to meet a
like committee on the part of Virginia to investigate and
report upon any modifications or changes that may be desired
in the boundary line between the two States, and upon any
joint legislation that may be necessary or proper to increase
or preserve the supply of food or other fish in the Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries ; to provide for its meeting
during the recess of the General Assembly and its report to
the Governor of its proceedings, and also providing for the
payment of the expenses of said Joint Committee.

SECTION 1. And le it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Hon. Abraham Lincoln Dryden, Wash-
ington Wilkinson, William F. Applegarth, Ashley M. Gould,
Maurice N. Carew, John W. P. Insley, John S. Jones and
Benjamin J. Linthicum, the joint committee of the General
Assembly of Maryland, appointed to meet a like committee on
the part of Virginia to investigate and report upon any modifi-
cations or changes that may be desirable in the boundary line
between the two States and upon any joint legislation that may
be necessary or proper to increase or preserve the supply of
food or other fish in the Chesapeake bay and its tributaries,
shall be and constitute a joint committee on the part of this
General Assembly, and as such is hereby continued in existence
with power to meet during the recess of this General Assembly
with the said joint committee on the part of Virginia, for the
purpose hereinbefore named, and said committee, shall report
their action and conclusions to the Governor of this State.
