LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 332.
AN ACT to pay John L. Porter, late Tax Collector for the
Third District of Allegany County, a sum of money errone-
ously paid by him into the State Treasury.
SECTION 1. JBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is hereby

directed to issue his warrant upon the Treasurer of the State in
favor of John L. Porter, late collector of taxes for the third
district of Allegany county for the sum of ten dollars and
seventy-two cents, overpaid by him to the treasurer of Mary-
land as taxes for the year eighteen hundred and eighty-nine,
the same having been recommended by the officials of the State
Treasury Department.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That said Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved April 7, 1898.

CHAPTER 333.
AN ACT to change the name of " The Seventh Ward Repub-
lican Association of Baltimore City" to "The Pioneer Repub-
lican Association of Baltimore City," and to declare valid its
acts, whether done heretofore or hereafter, under either
name.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the corporate name of " The Seventh Ward Repub-

lican Association of Baltimore City," the certificate for the
incorporation whereof is dated the 17th day of March, in the
year eighteen hundred and ninety-one, and recorded in the
office of the clerk of the Superior Court of Baltimore city,
among the charter records in Liber J. B., No. 29, folio 118,
etc., be and the same is changed to the name of " The Pioneer
Republican Association of Baltimore City," so that such cor-
poration shall hereafter be known by the last-mentioned name ;
and all corporate contracts and acts of such corporation, whether
made or done heretofore or hereafter, shall be legal and valid,
whether made or done under the name of " The Seventh Ward
Republican Association of Baltimore City " or under the name
of "The Pioneer Republican Association of Baltimore City."

Effective.
