LLOYD LOWNDES, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

CHAPTER 334.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the School Commissioners of
Anne Arundel County to appropriate a sufficient sum of
money for the purchase of a site and the erection of a school
house for white children, in the eighth election district of
Anne Arundel County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the School Commissioners of Anne Arundel

county are hereby .authorized and directed to appropriate a
sum of money out of any funds in their possession not other-
wise appropriated sufficient for the purchase of a site and. the
erection of a school house for white children in said county, to
be located within one-half mile of Fair Haven, in the eighth
election district of Anne Arundel county.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That the said school-

house shall be erected under the supervision and control of the
School Commissioners of Anne Arundel county, and the site

School Commissioners within the prescribed distance from Fair
Haven.

CHAPTER 335.
AN ACT to repeal Section 290 of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title Prince George's County," sub-title
" Roads," and to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sec-
tion 287 of said Article 17, and Acts amendatory thereto.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 290 of Article 17, Code of Public Local

and the same is hereby repealed, and that section 287 of said
Article 17 and Acts amendatory thereto, be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments as follows
287. The County Commissioners are hereby authorized and
empowered to levy a tax on all the assessable property of said

Prince George's County sufficient to carry into effect the pro-
visions of these sections ; provided, that the sum to be raised
in any one year shall not exceed the sum of twenty-five thou-
sand dollars ; and provided, further, that of the sum so raised
