LLOYD LOWNDES, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

The Major and the Members of the Town Council shall be
elected by the voters in said town. The Town Clerk, Treas-
urer, Tax Collector and Street Commissioner shall be elected
by the Town Council. The Police Magistrate, Attorney,
Weighmaster and a Bailiff shall be appointed by the Mayor,
by and with the advice and consent of the Town Council. All
the officers elected by the Town Council or appointed by the
Mayor shall hold their respective office for one year from the
first Monday of April in the year for which they are appointed,
and until their successors are elected and qualified.

169. The limits of said town of Oakland shall be as follows:

Beginning at a planted stone, marked J. H. 841, and running
thence with an allowance of two degrees and thirty minutes
magnetic variation., (1st) north sixty-four and one-half degrees,
west one hundred and fifty eight perches to an old road ana
with it, (2d) south fifty-seven and one-half degrees, west
twenty-four perches, (3d) south eighty-three and one-half
degrees, west seven and two-fifths perches, (4th) south eighty-
seven and one half degrees, west eight and three-fifths perches
to the limits of the Oakland Long Run road and with it, (5th)
south twenty-nine and one-fourth degrees, west twenty-four
and three-fourth perches, then (6th) south eighty six and three-
fourths degrees, west thirty-six perches, (7th) south fifty-one
and three-fourths degrees, west thirteen and three-fifths
perhes, (8th) south sixty-three and one-half degrees, west seven
and one-fourth perches, (9th) south thirty-nine degrees, west
four and four-fifth perches crossing the Little Youghiogheny
river, then (10th) south six and one-half degrees, west eleven
and one-tenth perches to the northwest corner of the Baltimore
and Ohio Railroad's inclosure near the Washington spring,
then with said inclosure (11th) south forty degrees, east one
hundred and sixteen perches, then (12th) south forty degrees
west twenty-eight perches, (13th) south twenty degrees, west
forty perches, (14) south sixty-two and one-half degrees, east
sixty-four and two-fifths perches to the limits cf the Oakland
and Aurora road, and with it (15th) north thirty-eight degrees
east twenty-one perches, then (16th) south sixty-five and one-
half degrees, east fifty-seven and one-half perches, (17th)
north twenty -one degrees, east fourteen and one-eight perches,
(18th) south thirty degrees, east seventeen, and one-fifth
perches, (19th) north fifty-seven and one-half degrees, east five
and one-fifth perches to the limits of the Baltimore and Ohio
Railroad, and with it (20th) south twenty-nine degrees, east
thirty-three and one-tenth perches, (21st) south twenty-four
