LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Trust and Deposit Company of Baltimore City," in all wills,
deeds, obligations or other paper writings heretofore made,
shall remain and be good and binding ana to the same effect
and purpose as if used or made in the name and style of "The
Guardian, Trust and Deposit Company of Baltimore City."
6. And be it further enacted, That the directors shall be
elected annually by the stockholders on the second Wednesday

in January, and they shall elect from their number, at the first
meeting of the board after their election, and after all subse-
quent elections, a president and one or more vice-presidents,
and shall also have power to elect a secretary and treasurer,
and to appoint and employ such other officers and agents as the
business of said corporation, from time to time, requires ; all
elections shall be by ballot, and at such elections, and at all
meetings of stockholders", every stockholder shall be entitled
to one vote for every share of stock held by him, but no per-
son shall be eligible as director who is not a stockholder to the
amount of tive shares of stock ; provided, however, that, this
amendment shall not affect the annual election of the directors
by the stockholders on the second Monday in April, 1898, but
the said election shall be held as heretofore, and the directors
so elected shall serve only until the second Wednesday in
January, 1899, and the officers elected by the said directors
shall likewise only hold their offices until the second Wednes-
day in January, 1899, or until their successors shall be duly
elected.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 237.
AN ACT to provide for the continuance and completion of
the indexing of the Records of the Prerogative Court of
the Province of Maryland.
WHEREAS, By chapter four hundred and forty-one of the
Acts of 1894, and chapter thirty-four of the Acts of 1896,

provision was made for the commencement and continuance of
the work of indexing the forty-seven volumes of the proceed-
ings of the Prerogative Court of the Province of Maryland,
seventy-four volumes of the administration accounts, and one
hundred and twenty-six volumes of the inventories and seven
volumes of the distribution or balance books, all of which have
been and now are in the office of the Register of Wills of
