245 of the Acts of eighteen hundred and ninety-four, en-
titled "An Act to incorporate the town of Chesapeake Beach,
in Calvert County."
WHEREAS, the Washington and Chesapeake Beach Railway

Company has been, by virtue of a decree of the United States
Circuit Court for the district of Maryland, placed in the hands
of receivers, and by said receivers has been sold ; and
|

WHEREAS, Under the law in such case made and provided,
the said Washington and Chesapeake Beach Railway Company
has been reorganized under the name of the Chesapeake Beacn
Railway Company; and
WHEREAS, By chapter 245 of the Acts of eighteen hundred

and ninety-four, certain rights, powers, privileges, franchises
and duties were conferred and imposed upon the said Wash-
ington and Chesapeake Beach Railway Company ; and
WHEREAS, It is desirous that the new organization shall pos-

sess the said rights, powers, privileges and 'franchises and per-
form the same duties ; therefore,
SEC. 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Chesapeake Beach Railway Company, being a

Clothed with
certain
rights and
powers.
|
re-organization of the Washington and Chesapeake Beach
Railway Company, be and it is hereby clothed with all the
powers, rights, and franchises, which were conferred on the
Washington and Chesapeake Beach Railway Company by
chapter 245 of the Acts of eighteen hundred and ninety-four,
entitled "an Act to incorporate the town of Chesapeake Beach,
in Calvert county," and that the duties and liabilities by said
Act imposed upon the said railroad, are hereby imposed ou the
new organization under its present name ; provided, however,
that the powers, rights, privileges and franchises heretofore
granted to and conferred upon the said Washington and Ches-
apeake Beach Railway Company, are hereby conferred upon,
transferred to and vested in the said Chesapeake Beach Rail-
way Company on the express condition and stipulation that
said last mentioned railway company, its successor, successors
or assigns, shall not construct any bridge across the Patuxent
river below the present steamboat landing at the village of
Bristol, Leon post office, in Anne Arundel county, but shall
construct its bridge across said river above, or higher up said
river than said steamboat landing.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from, the date of its passage.
