etc., to be
kept on
deposit.

jewels, plate, certificates of stock, or evidences of indebted-
ness, deeds or muniments of title, or other valuable paper of
any kind, or any other article or thing whatsoever, which may
be left or deposited for safe keeping with said company, and
guaranteeing their safety upon such terms and for such com-
missions or compensation as may be agreed upon ; and for the
complete preservation and safe-keeping thereof, is hereby
authorized to construct, erect, purchase, lease or rent such fire
or burglar-proof building, vaults, iron or composition safes, or
other means, which may be or become necessary, and let out
vaults, safes and other receptacles for such uses and purposes,
and generally to transact and perform all the business relating
to such deposit and safe-keeping or preservation of all such
articles or valuables as may be deposited with said company.
SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That the said company hereby
created shall have power to enact and adopt such rules, regula-

tions and by-laws for the government and management of the
affairs of paid corporation as it may deem advantageous to the
interests thereof; provided the same be not contrary to the law
of the land.

Repeal.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly
reserves the right to repeal, alter or amend this Act at its
pleasure.

Subject to
certain
provisions.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
be subject to the provisions of chapter 109 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1892, as amended by chapter 160 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1896.

Effective.

SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 192.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 191
and 192 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Washington County," sub title "Hagerstown."

Repeal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Ma-ryland, That sections 191 and 192 of Article 22 of the
Code of , Public Local Laws, title "Washington County," sub-
title "Hagerstown," be and the same are hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows :
191. The said Board of Street Commissioners shall have
control of the lighting of the town, with power to provide the
