County Commissioners of Frederick County, or any one of
them, in any manner concerning my action in the selection of
any person to be overseer or keeper of the almshouse of Fred-
erick county, or in the selection of anys officer or employe of
said almshonse, so help me God."

10. They shall within one month after their appointment
and qualification, appoint some suitable person to be overseer
or keeper of the almshouse and manager of the farm con-
nected therewith, and they shall appoint such other and so
many officers any employes as they may deem requisite, and fix
and establish their compensations.
11. They may remove each overseer or keeper, and any

other officer or employe, at their discretion, and appoint
another or others in his or their place at any time, whenever
in their judgment the interests of the county and the welfare
of the inmates of said almshouse shall require.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 6.
AN ACT to sanction an agreement between the Mayor and
Aldermen of Frederick, a body corporate, and Willard C.
Keller, his associates and assigns, wherein it is agreed that a
certain strip of land shall not be taken into the taxable
limits of Frederick, and subjected to municipal taxation for
the period of ten years from and after the twenty-ninth day
of January, in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-four,
and when, if ever taken in, that said corporation will pur-
chase a certain street at not less than the cost thereof, and to
grant the legislative assent to such contract.
WHEREAS, A certain Willard C. Keller has proposed and
agreed to purchase a strip of land 240 feet wide and 900 feet
deep, unimproved, and not within the taxable limits of Fred-

by laying it out in building lots, and with his associates and
assigns to build houses thereon and construct a private road or
street at considerable expense, and make other improvements ;
and
WHEREAS, The Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick have
agreed with said Willard C. Keller, his associates and assigns,
