SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Maryland Casualty Company of Balti-
timore city, a corporation formed under the provisions of Arti-
cle twenty-three of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, entitled "Corporations," in addition to the powers
possessed by it under the general laws of this State, shall
have the further powers hereinafter given.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the stockholders of the

said Maryland Casualty Company of Baltimore City may elect
s board of twenty-five directors, to serve until the next annual
meeting of stockholders, or until their successors are elected,
and that nine of the members of such board shall constitute a
quorum for the transaction of business ; and that the directors
so elected, and their successors, are hereby authorized and
empowered to exercise all rights, powers and privileges con-
ferred upon them by the General Laws of Maryland ; and that
said board of directors be and they are hereby authorized and
empowered to elect from their number annually, at their first
meeting after their election by the stockholders, an executive
committee consisting of five directors, which committee is
hereby authorized and empowered to exercise, when the board
of directors is not in session, all the rights and powers vested
in the board, subject only to such regulations or restrictions
as may be provided in the by-laws of the company.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the title of said
corporation be and is hereby changed from "Maryland Casu-
alty Company of Baltimore City," to "Maryland Casualty
Company."

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the said company
shall have perpetual succession.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

of Article 9 of the Code of Public General Laws, title
