amended.

27. The affidavit, short note declaration, voucher, pleadings,
interrogatories, claim of property and all other papers in attach-
ment proceedings may be amended in the same manner and to
the same extent as the proceedings in any other suits or actions
at law, eo that all attachment cases may be tried on their real
merits and the purposes of justice subserved ; nor shall any
attachment proceedings be quashed or get aside for any defect
in mere matter of form.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
Approved March 14, 1893.

CHAPTER 45.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to J. Fussell Marte-
net, State vaccine agent, for money expended by him for
vaccine supplies in excess of the appropriation heretofore
made for the same.

Appropria-
tion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the State, be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon the Treas-
urer of the State for two hundred and thirty-six dollars and
cents in favor of J. Fussell Martenet, State vaccine
agent, for the money expended by him during the years 1896
and 1897, for Supplies in his department, made necessary by
the requirements of the same, in excess of the amount hereto-
fore appropriated for the supplies of said department.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved March 17, 1898.

CHAPTER 46.
AN ACT to provide for the further publication of the
Archives of Maryland.
WHEREAS, By chapter one hundred and thirty-eight of the
Acts of the General Assembly, passed at the session of eigh-

teen hundred and eighty-two, the Maryland Historical Society
was appointed custodian of the records, archives and ancient
documents of the Province and State as therein provided, on
condition that the said society should safely keep, properly
arrange and catalogue the same, and should edit and publish
under its supervision such of the same as were of historical
