pay said interest and to provide, a sinking fund for the redemp-
tion of said bonds as are given by said Act of 1896, in rela-
tion to the interest and principal of the bonds therein named.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and Council men
of Frostburg, at the next regular election of officers of said

town after the passage of this Act, shall submit to the qualified
voters of said town the question whether or not said bonds
shall be issued, as hereinbefore provided, and at said election
all voters desiring to vote on said question shall cast a ballot,
upon which, in addition to the names of the candidates voted
for shall be written or printed the words " for the issue of
bonds," or "against trie issue of bonds," as the voter
shall desire, and if. the majority of votes cast at said
election on this question shall be in favor of said issue of
bonds, the Mayor and Councilmen shall have power to issue
said bonds not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000),
or any part thereof, for the purpose of completing the con-
struction and equipment of said water works, or to pay any
debt said town may have then already incurred in and about
the same ; but if the majority of votes cast on said question
shall be against the issue of said bonds, then said bonds shall
not be issued, and in giving the usual notice of the time, place
and object of said election it shall be the duty of said Mayor
and Councilmen to give notice of the submission of said ques-
tion to the voters, and shall cause this Act to be published in
some newspaper printed in said town at least ten days before
said election.

CHAPTER 42.
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Laurel,
Prince George's County, to contract for water and levy a
tax therefor.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted- by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and City Council of Laurel shall have,
the power, in order to enable them to contract for water in
said town with any company, corporation or individual, to levy
an additional tax of not more than ten cents on each one hun-
dred dollars worth of assessable property in said town, to be
levied and collected as other town taxes are now collected,
