LLOYD LOWNDES, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

Creek, and also to build a bridge over Cabin Branch, a tribu-
tary of said Curtis Creek ; and to provide by the issuance of
bonds the means for building the same.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel county
be and they are hereby authorized and required to cause a good
and substantial bridge for travel for man or beast to be con-
structed across Curtis creek in said county, from a point known
as Walnut point, on the south side, to a point on the opposite
shore at or near Seldner's wharf, and also to build a bridge
over Cabin branch from some suitable place on the sonth side
of said Cabin branch to the opposite shore of said creek, so as
to intersect with 'Penn ington avenue in the town of "South
Baltimore;" and they are hereby authorized to adopt such
plans and to make such contracts and to do such acts as may be
necessary for the erection, construction and completion of said
bridges.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Commissioners, in
said bridges to be built, shall have each of the same provided
with a suitable and sufficient drawbridge over the navigable
part of said creeks of a width of not less than sixty feet for
the bridge over Curtis creek, and forty feet for Cabin branch,
for safe and seoure passing and repassing of vessels and steam-
ers navigating the same.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That upon the completion of
said bridges the said County Commissioners shall keep the same
toll-bridges with proper gates and bars to secure the same, and
it shall be lawful for them to ask, demand and receive for the
purpose of keeping said bridges in good repair and condition,
and for the purpose of paying for the keeping of the same,
and to provide or aid in providing a sinking fund for the
redemption of the bonds hereinafter provided for in this Act,
the following tolls and rates for crossing both bridges, or either
of them — that is to say : " For a foot passenger, five cents ; for
every horse and rider, six cents ; for every cart or wagon with
one horse, mule or ox, ten cents; for every cart or wagon,
with two horses, mules or oxen, twelve cents ; for each cart or
wagon with four horses, mules or oxen, eighteen cents ; for
each pleasure carriage with one horse, ten cents, with two
horses, eighteen cents, with four horses, thirty-five cents; for
each bicycle and rider, seven cents ; for each bicycle and two
riders, twelve cents ; for bicycles with more than two riders,
six cents for each rider ; for each head of horses, mules or cattle,
five cents ; sheep and swine, each three cents.
