authorized and directed to refund to Charles B. Aspil, the
treasurer of the Somerset Savings B. and L. Association, the
sum of $62.50, heretofore paid by it as State bonus tax on its
original authorized capital stock of one hundred thousand
dollars.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 426.
AN ACT to extend the corporate limits of the city of Cum-
berland, Maryland, and to provide for the extension of
Washington street through said limits as extended, and for
the grading, paving and otherwise improving said "Washing-
ton street, as extended, and Brooks avenue, lying within the
present city limits, and contiguous to said proposed extension.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary

land, That the city limits of Cumberland, Maryland, as now
constituted, be and the same are hereby extended so as to
include all that body of land lying westward of the fourteenth
line of the present city limits, and described generally as fol-
lows : Beginning at the point on the north side of Fayette
street extended, where the Rose Hill Cemetery fence is inter-
sected by the fourteenth line of the present limits aforesaid,
and running thence with the north side of said street extended,
commonly called the Sulphur Spring road, until it reaches the
middle of a county road, formerly laid out by Commissioners
appointed by the Circuit Court for Allegany county, and run-
ning from the old National turnpike to the stone bridge on the
present National turnpike ; then with the middle of said
county road to the south side of the old National turnpike;
then with the south side of said turnpike and of Green street
extended to the boundary stone at the end of the fourteenth
line of the present city limits.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the real estate within said
limits as extended by the provisions of this Act, shall be
assessed and subject to taxation for municipal purposes for the
June levy of eighteen hundred and ninety-nine, of the Mayor
and City Council of Cumberland, Maryland.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That T. Leiper Patterson,
Arthur H. Amick, Joseph White, Hazelhurst Sprigg and
Robert L. Center, be and they are hereby appointed Commis-
