Powers con-
firmed and
enlarged.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ty ike General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the powers and anthority of the " Wellington Re-
publican Association of North Baltimore, of Baltimore City,"
a corporation duly incorporated under the provisions of the
Act of 1868, chapter 471, are hereby confirmed and enlarged
as hereinafter provided.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the members of

tees, etc.

the said Wellington Republican Association of North Balti-
more, of Baltimore City, be and they are hereby empowered to
elect such number of trustees, managers, directors or governors,
for the management of the property and concerns of said cor-
poration, and in such manner and at such times, and for such
term or terms of office as the said corporation, by its by-laws,
does now or shall hereafter prescribe.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
Approved April 9, 1898.

CHAPTER 424.
AN ACT to prohibit the granting of license for the sale of
spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer at any place
within Baltimore County within one mile of the property
of the Maryland Asylum and Training School for Feeble
Minded, in said County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That hereafter it shall not be lawful for the clerk of the

Circuit Court for Baltimore County to issue a license to any
person or persons to sell spirituous or fermented liquors or lager
beer at any place in said county nearer than one mile, in every
direction, from the property of the Maryland Asylum and
Training School for Feeble Minded, in said Baltimore county.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 425.
AN ACT to refund the Somerset Sayings B. and L. Associa-
tion State bonus tax, paid by it into the. Treasury of the
State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ty the General Assembly of Mary-
