Chapter 77.
AN ACT to define the powers of officers, agents
and representatives of incorporated institu-
tions or bodies for the care or protection of
children or minors in relation to their cus-
tody, and to punish interference or obstruc-
tion in such cases.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That every agent, officer

or representative of any institution, society or
body, incorporated under the laws of this state
for the. care, custody or protection of children
or minors having in his possession, custody or
personal charge, any minor or person under
twenty-one years of age, for any purpose con-
nected with the objects of such institution,
society or body, shall be entitled to all the

privileges and authority of a conservator of the
peace ; and any person, whether under the
claim or color of authority over the person of
such minor as parent, guardian or otherwise,
or under any other color, pretense or claim,
who shall in any manner interfere with or ob-
struct such agent, officer or representative in
relation to his possession, custody or personal
charge of such minor, shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and it shall be the duty of all officers
of police, policemen, constables, and officers
and officials of every description having the
authority to make arrests, to enforce this act
in every particular.
