next ensuing in each and every year, nor any
woodcock between the first day of February and
the fifteenth day of June, nor any pheasant be-
tween the first day of January and the first day
of Beptember.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That any

person or persons violating any of the provisions
of the preceding section of this act shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and, on convic-
tion thereof before any justice of the peace in
said county, shall pay a fine of five dollars for
each and every woodcock or rabbit shot or taken;
one-half of said fine to be paid to the informer,
and the remainder as hereinafter directed; and
on failure to pay said fine shall be committed to
the house of correction or the county jail, in the
discretion of the justice trying the case, for ten
days.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That it

shall not be lawful for any person, not a bona
fide resident or taxpayer of said county, to shoot
any woodcock or rabbits in the said county
without having first obtained from the clerk of
the circuit court for said county a license per-
mitting the person named in said license to
shoot said game in said county for one year
from the day on which said license is issued;
and that the person named therein, or party pro-
curing such license, shall pay to said clerk for
such license the sum of ten dollars, which
amount shall be turned over by the said clerk to
the board of school commissioners of Baltimore
county for the use of the public schools, and
fifty cents to the clerk for his fee for issuing
said license; and any non-resident convicted
before a justice of the peace of said county,
for gunning within the limits of said county
without a license so to do shall be fined
ten dollars for each and every offence ; on fail-
ure to pay said fine, the offender shall be con-
fined in the county jail for ten days ; provided,
that any land-owner may extend the privilege
of killing said game upon his or her land to
whomsoever he pleases during such parts of
the year as the killing of such game is permiss-
