Chapter 503.

AN ACT supplementary to an act, entitled "An
act to add new section to the first article of
the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled 'Al-
legany county,' to be sub-titled 'Insane Asy-
lum,' " and to vest in the county commissioners
of said county additional powers relating to
the care of insane persons, passed at January
session, eighteen hundred and eighty, chapter
two hundred and sixty-seven.

WHEREAS the full amount of the bonds author-
ized to be issued by the act to which this is a sup-
plement, as amended by chapter seventy-three,
of the acts of assembly, passed at the January

session, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, has
been issued, and the proceeds disposed of for
the purpose therein prescribed, and it is found
necessary to obtain the further sum of twenty
thousand dollars for the purpose of paying for
the heating apparatus and the necessary fur-
niture and materials required to put the build-
ing, which has been erected in condition for oc-
cupancy, so that the purposes of the original act
to which this is a supplement may be effectuated ;
therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the county commissioners
of Allegany county, be and they are hereby

authorized, for the purpose of enabling them to
pay for the heating apparatus and the necessary
furniture and materials required for said insane
asylum provided for in the original act to
which this is a supplement, to issue an addi-
tional number of coupon bonds of said county in
denominations not less than one hundred nor
more than five hundred dollars, and to an
amount not exceeding twenty thousand dollars,
said bonds to bear interest at a rate not exceed-
ing four per centum per annum, and to mature
and fall due as follows : Five thousand dol-
lars thereof at the end of twelve years from
the date of issuing the same, and five thous-
and dollars at the end of each year thereafter
until all are due ; and said commissioners
