Chapter 489.
AN ACT to provide for the registration of voters
and for elections in such parts of Baltimore
county as may become annexed to Baltimore
city.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That if any portion of the ter-
ritory now forming a part of Baltimore county

shall be annexed to Baltimore city under the act
of assemby of the present session, approved
March fourteenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-
eight, then, and in that event, the laws passed
at the present session of the legislature relating
to registration of voters and to elections in the
city of Baltimore shall be applicable to the said
territory from the time it becomes a part of Bal-
timore city, and the registers of voters for the
several precincts into which said territory shall
be divided shall be appointed by the supervisors
of elections for said city of Baltimore as soon as
shall be practicable after said annexation,
instead of at the times provided for the appoint-
ment of registers within the present limits of
Baltimore city ; and the first sittings of said re-
gisters in the year eighteen hundred and eighty-
eight shall be the July sittings mentioned in the
act passed at the present session of the Legisla-
ture of Maryland, and the said registration of
voters shall be used in the election for members
of congress in the year eighteen hundred and
eighty-eight in such of said territory as shall be
annexed to the city of Baltimore.
