Chapter 364.
AN ACT to relieve the disabilities of George
Washington Holland, a minor.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That George Washington
|
|
|
Authority
granted.
|
Holland, a minor, resident of Dorchester county,
State of Maryland, be and he is hereby author-
ized and empowered to settle with his guardian,
Major S. Fletcher, of this state, for whatever
sum or sums of money the said Major S. Fletcher
holds, as guardian, out of the estate of William
Holland and Sophia E. R. Holland, deceased
parents of the said George Washington Holland,
and to execute a receipt or receipts for the same ;
and the said guardian is hereby authorized and
directed to pay over to him whatever money or
personal property may be due him from said
estate or estates, and take his receipt therefor,
which shall have the same effect as if the same
were executed by a person of full age.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said George

Right to con-
tract, etc.
|
Washington Holland shall have the immediate
right to take charge of his estate and to con-
tract, and shall be answerable in law and equity
for all liabilities, debts and contracts entered
into by him. and may sue and be sued as if he
were a man of full age.

Effective.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the Catholic Club of
Cumberland, Maryland.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS an association of citizens exists in
the city of Cumberland, Maryland, under the
title of the Catholic club of Cumberland, Mary-
land; and whereas the said association has
applied for an act of incorporation, in order that
thereby its existence may be rendered more
