one-half of said fine and one-half of the proceeds
of the sale of such confiscated boat, vessel,

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 363.
AN ACT authorizing and directing the circuit
court for Frederick county to appoint an offi-
cial stenographer for said court.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That the circuit court for
Frederick county be and the same is hereby
authorized and directed to appoint a steno-
grapher for said court, to be present at the jury
terms of said court, whose duty shall be pre-
scribed by said court in such cases as the court
shall deem proper to employ the services of a
stenographer.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said steno-

grapher shall receive as compensation for the
services rendered by him as said stenographer
such sum as the court may deem adequate for
such services, which sum shall be levied for on
the taxable property of Frederick county by the
county commissioners of Frederick county, and
shall be paid him by the collector of taxes of
said county.
