mouth to the uppermost boundary line of Prince
George's county, under a penalty of a fine not
exceeding three hundred dollars, and confisca-
tion of the boat, vessel, dredge and implements
used in digging, dredging and carrying away
such sand, gravel or other material, and impris-

onment in the county jail for a period not exceed-
ing six months, in the discretion of the court ;
one-half of said fine and one-half of the proceeds
of the sale of such confiscated boat, vessel,
dredge and implements to be paid by the sheriff
to the informer, and the other half to the com-
missioners of public schools for the county.

Penalty im-
posed .

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 363.

AN ACT authorizing and directing the circuit
court for Frederick county to appoint an offi-
cial stenographer for said court.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That the circuit court for
Frederick county be and the same is hereby
authorized and directed to appoint a steno-
grapher for said court, to be present at the jury
terms of said court, whose duty shall be pre-
scribed by said court in such cases as the court
shall deem proper to employ the services of a
stenographer.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said steno-

grapher shall receive as compensation for the
services rendered by him as said stenographer
such sum as the court may deem adequate for
such services, which sum shall be levied for on
the taxable property of Frederick county by the
county commissioners of Frederick county, and
shall be paid him by the collector of taxes of
said county.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
