SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 348.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay
the board of school commissioners of Carroll
county a sum of money erroneously paid into
the state treasury by John T. Lynch, late
sheriff of Carroll county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the comptroller of the

state be and he is hereby authorized and di-
rected to draw his warrant upon the treasurer
of the state in favor of the board of school com-
missioners of Carroll county for the sum of two
hundred and fifty dollars, being the amount
paid into the state treasury erroneously by John
T. Lynch, late sheriff of Carroll county, out of
a fine imposed by the circuit court of Carroll
county, and to which the said board of school
commissioners was entitled to under section
two of chapter one hundred and seventy-nine
of the acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, the
repayment of said sum having been recom-
mended by the treasurer and comptroller of the
state.
