Chapter 252.
AN ACT to protect wild turkeys in Frederick
county, and to repeal all laws inconsistent with
this act.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That it shall not be lawful
in Frederick county to shoot, kill, or in any way
entrap or destroy any wild turkeys except be-
tween the fifteenth day of November and the
fifteenth day of the following January.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any person
violating any of the provisions of this act shall

be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall
likewise be subject to a penalty of not less than
five nor more than ten dollars for each and every
offence, and on conviction before a justice of
the peace in and for Frederick county shall be
committed to the county jail until such penalty
shall be paid ; but such imprisonment shall not
exceed one day for each dollar of penalty im-
posed.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
