are hereby authorized to levy, at the levy term
for the year eighteen hundred and eighty-nine,
for the use of the school commissioners of said
county, a sum of money not exceeding thirteen
hundred dollars, to be applied by said school

in the town of Laurel, and the building and
equipment of a public school building in said
town of Laurel.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 251.
AN ACT to repeal section twenty-eight of arti-
cle twenty of the Public Local Laws of Talbot
county, sub-title "County Commissioners,"
and re-enact the same, with amendments.

Repealed and
enacted.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That section twenty-eight
of article twenty of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Talbot county, sub-title " County Com-
missioners," be and the same is hereby repeal-
ed, and the following enacted in lieu thereof :

Appoint clerk
|
(28). The said commissioners, or a majority of
them, shall appoint a clerk, who shall receive
such compensation as they shall see proper to
allow, not exceeding twelve hundred dollars per
annum.

|
Effective.
|
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
