ers are hereby authorized and empowered to
levy a tax on the assessable property of said
Prince George's county sufficient to carry into
effect the provisions of this act, provided the
sum to be raised shall in no year exceed the
sum of twelve thousand dollars.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the county
commissioners are hereby empowered to fill all
vacancies that may occur under the provisions
of this act.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That all acts or
parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions of
this act be and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay
the costs, due by the State of Maryland, to
George W. Carson, incurred in the court of
appeals of Maryland, and the supreme court of
the United States.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That the comptroller of the
treasury be and he is hereby directed to draw his
warrant on the treasurer of the state for the sum
of ($107.75) one hundred and seven dollars and
seventy-five cents, in favor of George W. Carson,
or his attorney, to pay the costs incurred by said
George W. Carson, in the court of appeals of
Maryland, and in the supreme court of the United
States.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
