Chapter 230.

AN ACT to repeal the act of eighteen hundred
and seventy-four, chapter two hundred and
five of eighteen hundred and eighty, chapter
three hundred and eighty-one, relating to pub-
lic roads in Prince George's county, and to
enact the following sections in lieu of said
acts.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the acts of eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-four, chapter two hundred and
five, act of eighteen hundred and eighty, chapter
three hundred and eighty-one, relating to public
roads in Prince George's county, be and the
same are hereby repealed, and the following sec-
tions enacted in lieu thereof :

SEC 2. And be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the county commissioners
of Prince George's county shall divide the county
in road districts, not exceeding fourteen, for each
of which they shall appoint a supervisor of skill
and ability, who shall have charge of the repairs
of all roads and bridges in his road district, ex-
cept such bridges as the county commissioners
may deem it advisable to repair by contract, and
said supervisor shall give bond in such penalty
and with such security as they may fix and ap-
prove, and with such conditions as they may
prescribe in regard to the duties to be performed,
the use, safe-keeping and due return of all prop-
erty placed in his charge, and the proper disposal
of all moneys coming into his hands for road
purposes.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That each supervisor

hereby required to report to the county commis-
sioners, at their first meeting in the month of
May, what repairs are necessary to be made on
the public roads and bridges in his road district.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the supervisor
of each road district is hereby authorized to hire
