shall be satisfied that the same is proper to be
paid, they shall give to said claimant an order,
signed as aforesaid, on the collector of taxes of
the district in which said claimant resides, for
the sum of money said commissioners shall find
to be due to said claimant.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the county com-

missioners, at their annual meeting for levying
county taxes, shall levy on the assessable prop-
erty of the county such sums of money as said
board of road commissioners shall notify them
in writing will be required for keeping in repair
the public roads of the county for one year, not,
however, to exceed the sum of four thousand
dollars ; and it shall be the duty of the said board

meeting of said county commissioners to make
the annual levy, and the said road commis-
sioners and the said county commissioners
shall keep an account, showing the number,
date and the amount of each order drawn by the
board of road commissioners on collector of taxes
as aforesaid, and in the annual statement of the
expenses of the county published each year by
the said county commissioners in pursuance to
the act of eighteen hundred and seventy-four,

chapter one hundred and two, it shall be made
to clearly appear what sums of money have been
expended in the public roads of said county, and
no order drawn on the collector of taxes by the
said board of road commissioners shall bear in-
terest, unless the same shall be presented for
payment to the county commissioners while the
said county commissioners are in session for the
purpose of receiving and passing accounts against
the county, next succeeding the issual of said
order.
SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That it shall be the

on the said roads is being done, to visit and per-
