signed as aforesaid, on the collector of taxes of
the district in which said claimant resides, for
the sum of money said commissioners shall find
to be due to said claimant.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the county com-

missioners, at their annual meeting for levying
county taxes, shall levy on the assessable prop-
erty of the county such sums of money as said
board of road commissioners shall notify them
in writing will be required for keeping in repair
the public roads of the county for one year, not,
however, to exceed the sum of four thousand
dollars ; and it shall be the duty of the said board
