Chapter 124.
AN ACT to repeal sections three and five of chap-
ter twenty-eight of the acts of eighteen hun-
dred and forty-one, entitled a supplement to
an act entitled "An act to incorporate a com-
pany to make a turnpike road from Boons-
borough, in Washington county, to Swearin-
gen's Ferry," on the Potomac river, and to
re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That sections three and five

re-enacted.

of chapter twenty-eight of the acts of eighteen
hundred and forty-one be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as fol-
lows :
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That, annually here-
after, between the first of March and the tenth
|
|
|
Publish veri-
fied statement
|
of May, the president and managers aforesaid
shall publish in some newspaper in Washington
county a statement, verified by the affidavit of
the secretary, of all the receipts and disburse-
ments of the said company between the date of
the last published statement and the date of the
one then made, and also of the annual dividend
of said company.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That hereafter

Give public
notice.
|
notice shall be given of the time and place of
the annual election for officers of said com-
pany by public advertisement, inserted in some
newspaper in Washington county, at Hagers-
town, for three successive weeks prior to said
election, and that notice shall be given of the
election of the officers by one advertisement in
said paper.

|
Effective.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.
