SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 600.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commis-
sioners of Garrett County to divide the first and tenth
election districts, so as to make two voting precincts in the
first district and one voting precinct in the tenth district of
said county.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Garrett county
be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
re-arrange the boundary lines and divide the first and tenth
election districts of said county, so that there shall be two
voting precincts in the first election district and one voting
precinct in the tenth election district of said county; which
voting precincts of the first election district shall be for the
first precinct of said district as now located, and the other
shall be located at Kitzmillersville, and the voting precinct of
said tenth election district shall be at the place where the
present polling place is located.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That after the said boundary lines
are so re-arranged, that the said County Commissioners shall
publish the same in some newspaper or newspapers printed in
Garrett county, and ten days before the usual time for the
sitting of the register of voters for said first and tenth elec-
tion districts, the clerk of the Circuit Court for said county
shall deliver to the registers of voters for said districts the

registry of voters respectively therein; and the said two regis-
ters of voters shall meet together at some convenient place,
immediately thereafter, and the register of voters for the said
tenth election district, shall strike from the registry of voters
for said tenth district, the names of all voters residing in such
part of the said tenth election district as shall have been taken
from said district and added to the said first election district.
