Amendment;
to charters
|
47. If any alteration or amendment of the article as provi-
sions of the charter of any said corporations shall be made by
the authority of the corporations, such alterations or amend-
ments shall be made known, acknowledged and recorded in the
same mariner as prescribed in sections forty-two, forty-three
and forty-four of the article, and after the said alteration or
amendment shall be recorded, the same shall be taken to be a
part of the said charter or instrument, as if the same had
originally been made a part thereof; and any corporation
heretofore formed under the provisions of this article for the
creation or maintenance of educational associations, universi-
ties, colleges, academies, cemetery companies, hospitals or
asylums, the existence of which, by the terms of its character,
is limited to a period of forty years or less, is authorized to
amend its charter, so as to provide for perpetual existence.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 558.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Sections
3, 13, 14, 17. 18, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30 and 31 of Chapter
480, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1892, entitled "An Act to Incorporate the Town of Takoma
Park, Montgomery and Prince George's Counties," and to
add a new section thereto, to follow Section 30, to be num-
bered Section 30 A.

Repeal.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections 3, 13, 14, 17, 18, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29,
30 and 31 of chapter 480, of the acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1892, entitled "An Act to Incorporate the
Town of Takoma Park, Montgomery and Prince George's

New section.

Counties," be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, and that a new section be added thereto, to
follow section 30, to be number section 30 A, and to read as
follows :
3. The citizens of said town having the qualifications pre-
scribed for voters by the laws of this State and having resided
