man for the said rivers, who shall hold his office for two years
from the first day of May succeeding his appointment, and
whose duty it shall be to enforce the provisions of this act, and
for which service he shall receive an annual salary of fifty
dollars, to be paid by the County Commissioners of Cecil
county.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That sections 361 to 370,
inclusive, of article eight of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Cecil County," sub-title "Wild Fowl," and all other laws
or parts of laws inconsistent with this act, are hereby repealed.

Repeal.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 557.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Sub-section
three of Section forty -two, and Section forty-seven of Article
23 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Corporations,"
as the same were re-enacted by Chapter 39 of the Acts
of 1892.

Effective,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sub-section three of section forty-two, and
section forty-seven of article 23 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, title "Corporations," as said sub section and section
were re-enacted by Chapter 39 of the acts of 1892, be and the
same are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments so
as to read as follows :

Repeal.

SUB-SEC. 3 of section 42. The object or purposes for which
incorporation is sought, the time of its existence not to exceed
forty years, and the articles, conditions and provisions under
which the incorporation is formed; provided, that the limita-
tion as to the duration of the existence of corporations formed
under this article shall not apply to gas light companies, ceme-
tery companies, or to corporations formed for the creation or
maintenance of educational associations, universities, colleges,
academies, hospitals or asylums, and that certificates of incor-
poration of all corporations named in the proviso may contain
provisions for perpetual existence.
