are as described in section two hundred and fifty-four of arti-
cle eleven of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, as
re enacted by chapter three hundred and fifty-nine of the acts
of the General Assembly of eighteen hundred and ninety-two,
and the boundaries of the lots, streets, lanes and alleys in said
city are as described on the surveys and plats thereof, in the
office of the register of Frederick city; and the said plats and
surveys shall be received as the boundaries of the lots, streets,
lanes and alleys thereof; but the police limits of Frederick
city shall be as the same were originally fixed and described
in section 2 of chapter seventy-four of the acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of eighteen hundred and seventy,
namely: Beginning at the forty four mile stone on the Balti-
more and Fredericktown turnpike road, thence with a straight
line to a point on or near the Georgetown turnpike, so as to
include the brick house formerly owned by John Hughes ;
thence with a straight line to a point on or near the Jefferson
turnpike, so as to include the house formerly owned by John
McPherson, thence with a straight line to a point on or near
the Montevue turnpike, so as to include the house formerly
owned by Christopher Myers; thence with a straight line to
a point not far from the Woodsboro turnpike, so as to include
the house formerly owned by John Graham; thence with a
straight line to the mouth of Carroll creek; and thence with
a straight line to the aforesaid forty-four mile stone; and all
ordinances heretofore passed bv the mayor and aldermen of
Frederick to preserve the peace, order and quiet of Frederick,
or that may hereafter be passed, shall apply to said police
limits and to all persons therein; and the police justice, or in
his absence the mayor, shall have power to apprehend and try
any and all persons violating any of the provisions of said
ordinance within said police limits, and enforce the fines, pen-
alties and punishments therein prescribed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.
