CHAPTER 478.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Mutual Fire Insurance
Company, in Harford County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the charter of the Mutual Fire Insurance
Company, in Harford county, as contained in the act of incor-
poration of said county, passed at the December session, eigh-
teen hundred and forty-two, chapter two hundred and fourteen,
and the several amendments and supplements thereto, be and
the same is hereby amended so as to require the president of
said company to be elected by the members thereof at their
annual meeting in January of each year.

Charter
amended.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the members of said com-
pany shall have power, by a by-law or otherwise, to prescribe
the qualifications and duties of the president; provided always,
he shall be selected from amongst the members of said com-
pany.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 479.

AN ACT to refund to Charles G. Spicknall and Francis
Gantt, late collectors of State taxes in the third election
district of Calvert County, money heretofore erroneously
paid into the treasury by the said respective parties.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby directed
to draw his warrant on the Treasurer to the order of Charles
G. Spicknall, late collector of State taxes for the third district
of Calvert county, for the sum of thirty-seven dollars and
thirty-eight cents; and also to draw a similar order or warrant
on the Treasurer to the order of Francis Gantt, late collector
of State taxes for said third district of Calvert county, for the
sum of fifty-eight dollars and ten cents, for money erroneously
paid into the treasury by the said parties; and the Treasurer is
