SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That all acts and parts of acts
inconsistent herewith, are hereby repealed.

Repeal.

SEC. 14. And le it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 469.

AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of Chestertown to
construct a suitable public building for corporate and other
purposes, and to borrow money to pay therefor, and to pay
such borrowed money by levies on the taxable property of
said town.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of Chestertown are here-
by authorized and empowered to construct or have constructed
on the public square or grounds in Chestertown, such suitable
public building or buildings as they may deem necessary or
desirable for the uses of the town, providing rooms or apart-
ments for fire apparatus, police headquarters, council room and
such other rooms as they may deem requisite.

May erect
a building.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said commissioners are
authorized and empowered to borrow such a sum of money,
not exceeding five thousand dollars, as they may find necessary
to pay for the constructing and fitting of such building or
buildings, after applying in part payment such portion of the
unexpended balance of former levies on hand as they may
consider proper.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said commissioners are
authorized and empowered to levy on the taxable property in
Chestertown, from time to time, such sum or sums of money as
will be sufficient to pay the principal and interest of the afore-
said debt as it becomes due and payable.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of acts
inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be and the same
are hereby repealed.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
