Effective.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 414.

AN ACT to repeal Section 102 of Article 2' of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel
County," sub-title "Brooklyn," as the same was enacted by
Chapter 487 of the Acts of 1890, and to repeal Chapter
107 of the Acts of 1892, and to re-enact said Section 102
and Chapter 107 with amendments.

Repeal.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 2 of article 2 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel County," sub-title "Brook-
lyn," as the same was enacted by chapter 487 of the acts of
1890, and that chapter 107 of the acts of 1892 be and the
same are hereby repealed and consolidated and amended so as
to read as follows :

Additional
policemen.

102, The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel county
are directed, on or before the first day of May in every other
year, beginning with the year eighteen hundred and ninety-
four, to appoint four policemen for the better protection of
persons and property in Anne Arundel county, which police
officers shall be stationed, in the discretion of said commis-
sioners, at Brooklyn, Curtis Bay and South Baltimore; and
from among the four policemen so to be appointed, the said
commissioners shall select one to be chief of police ;. and the
said commissioners are required, in making their annual levy,
to levy the sum of sixty-five dollars per month to pay salary of
the chief of police, and fifty dollars per month each for the
three other policemen so to be appointed; and the said County
Commissioners shall arm and equip said policemen and make
such rules and regulations for their proper discipline as they
may deem best to promote their efficiency.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
