CHAPTER 412.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section 2
of Article 68, of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, entitled " Notaries Public."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 2 of article 68, of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, entitled " Notaries Public," be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, to read as follows :

Repeal.

|
2. Each notary public shall, within thirty days from the time
of his appointment, give the bond prescribed in section 24 of
Article 35, of the Code of Public General Laws; and each
county of the State shall be entitled, on application, to at least
two notaries public, to be appointed as aforesaid by the Gov-
ernor; and in case of an appointment, on application, dnring
recess of the Legislature, the Governor shall submit said
appointment to the Senate for confirmation or rejection, as
in case of appointments to fill vacancies during recess of the
Legislature.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect :
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 413.
AN ACT to refund to Mary E. Hurtt a sum of money erro- .
neously paid by her into the State Treasury.

Effective.
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Mary E. Hurtt was erroneously assessed for the
years from 1881 to 1893, both inclusive, upon property in Kent:
county, amounting to the sum of four thousand dollars; and
did pay into the treasury State taxes upon said basis for the
periods above mentioned; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby author-
ized and directed to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer in
favor of Mary E. Hurtt for the sum of ninety-five dollars and
ten cents, being the amount of taxes erroneously paid by her,
the refunding of which having received the recommendation
of the treasury officials.
