troller is hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrant
on the Treasurer of the State to the order of the said Daniel
H. Staley, for the said sum of one hundred dollars, and the
Treasurer is directed to pay the same out of any moneys in the
Treasury not otherwise appropriated.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 395.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay Edward C.
Gantt, State's Attorney for Anne Arundel county, for pro-
fessional services rendered the State of Maryland, in the
suit of Sidney I. Wailes against Marion DeKalb Smith,
Comptroller of the Treasury.

Appropria-
tion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury of this
State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to issue his
warrant upon the Treasury of the State in favor of Edward C.
Gantt, State's Attorney for Anne Arundel county, for the sum
of five hundred dollars, for professional services rendered the
State in the suit of Sidney I. Wailes against Marion DeKalb
Smith, Comptroller of the Treasury, in the Circuit Court for
Anne Arundel county, April term, 1892.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 396.

AN ACT to prohibit the threshing of the waters of Magothy
river for the purpose of driving fish into seines, nets or
other instruments for taking and catching fish.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be unlawful for any person to use any
oar, paddle, pole or other implement or device for the purpose
