LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 362.

AN ACT to add additional Sections to the charter of the
City of Annapolis, relating to streets, to be known as
sections 94 and 95.

New sections.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the charter of the city of Annapolis is here-
by amended by adding the following thereto, to be known as
sections ninety-four and ninety-five.

Power of city
over streets.

94. No person or persons, or body corporate, shall open, dig
up, relay, obstruct, or in any manner interfere, for any purposes
whatever, with the streets, lanes, alleys and public squares of
Annapolis, without the consent of the corporation of said city,
or its authorized officer or officers, first had and obtained
before such opening, digging up, relaying or obstructing takes
place; and the corporation of Annapolis is hereby empowered
to enforce the provision of this section, by such penalty or
penalties as it deems proper to inflict, consistent with the
rights and privileges delegated to it in the charter of said city ;
and all acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this section are
hereby repealed.

95. And be it enacted, That no person, persons or body

corporate shall turn off the water from any of the water plugs
and the public hydrants of said city, located in the streets of
Annapolis, for any cause whatever, without giving twenty
hours' previous notice thereof to the mayor of said city; and
any person, persons or body corporate offending against this
section, shall be subject to such penalty or penalties as the
corporation of said city deems proper to inflict and are consis-
tent with the rights and privileges delegated to it in the
charter of said city.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
